I'm the product owner on CountBig at Link Development, a census and data platform for government statistics bodies in Egypt and the UAE. Before that I worked on an AI risk-assessment tool for a Saudi fintech, an HR platform from first idea to launch, and a real-estate marketplace in Saudi Arabia.
About
I sit between the business and the developers.
I work as a product manager, product owner and business analyst, with a Computer Science and AI degree from Cairo University. Most of my day is spent talking to the people who know the business problem, working out what they actually need, and writing it down so developers, designers and testers all read it the same way.
I started in 2019, while still a student, teaching AI and programming and leading a small team of instructors. Business analysis came next, then product ownership. Having taught the technical side helps: I can follow what the engineers are saying and ask better questions.
The work I enjoy most is the unclear start of a project, when nobody has agreed yet on scope, priorities or what "done" means.

CountBig: census and government data platform
A platform used for government and statistical projects in Egypt and the UAE. I own its delivery and enhancements, including the requirements for Egypt's 2027 Census work with CAPMAS and UAE implementations that have to follow local regulations.
What I do
Write requirements for data collection, validation and reporting, turn them into user stories, and act as the main contact between the stakeholders and the development team.

Lameh automation tool
A part-time product owner role for a Saudi fintech. The tool took a financial risk assessment that used to take 30–45 days and brought it down to 7 days.

What I did
Decided the order of the AI features (OCR, financial-document processing, sentiment analysis, sanctions screening), using client feedback, and worked with data scientists, finance analysts and the integration team.

UAE government and statistics work
CountBig implementations for UAE government bodies: FCSC, NCSCR and Sharjah, alongside Dubai Data & State Establishment. Each one has its own regulations and business requirements, so the product has to be aligned with them locally.

Manage the implementation and enhancements, and translate each body's requirements into backlog items the development team can build.

Three projects, with the problem, my part and the decision that shaped each one.
Lameh: reading company documents with AI
- Problem
- Deciding whether a company deserves funding meant going through its company documents, bank statements, financial statements and commercial registration by hand. A single assessment took 30–45 days.
- What I did
- It was a startup where everyone did a bit of everything. Before writing any story I set up how we would work: accounts, Slack, Linear, the board, the working rules, and the automated connections between email, Slack and Linear. Then I wrote the user stories, and later joined the testing team.
- The decision
- We had to find product-market fit and still ship an MVP. I put the document classifier first: the tool takes many uploaded files and sorts them by company name and file type. Until that worked, there was nothing to analyse for each company.
- Result
- Risk assessment time went from 30–45 days to 7 days.
Synworks: low-cost self-service on top of any ERP
- Problem
- Some employees only need simple self-service, such as checking in and out or applying for leave. Paying for a full ERP seat for that is expensive.
- What I did
- Defined the product from the first idea, wrote the roadmap and the backlog, and planned the sprints.
- The decision
- The first version was built around one ERP. Clients used different ones, so the product had to integrate with whichever ERP a client already had.
- Result
- Launched about six months after the first idea.
Al Rajhi Real Estate: marketplace first
- My part
- I owned the mobile app and how it connects to the backend, and set the roadmap and feature priorities with the business and delivery teams.
- The decision
- The hardest call was ordering. Self-service features were requested early, but the platform first had to work as a marketplace for the company's units. I held those features back until it did.
- Result
- A platform with 5,000+ users and 200+ property listings.
CountBig: study the product before changing it
- The decision
- Requirements gathering and development were not enough on this platform. It touches many areas, so a small feature can affect a lot of them. I made time to study the product in detail myself before committing a change to the backlog.
- Result
- Less back and forth with the development team in meetings, and fewer issues found and redesigns needed in the middle of development.
